During emergency situations, you will need to handle high-risk procedures with a calm and professional demeanor. The Cath Lab RN functions in the role of scrub, circulator, and monitor technician on a rotating basis, so you will need to be able to complete all functions of each role with regard to patient safety and adherence to infection control practices. The Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Vail Health

Vail Health's Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab allows physicians to visualize the heart’s structures to identify and treat problems and abnormalities such as blocked arteries and arrhythmias.

For patients requiring catheterization, a type of life-saving intervention, access to a cath lab is critical to ensure quick restoration of blood flow by opening the arteries. Historically, patients traveled to Denver to receive this treatment. Vail Health is proud to introduce this new, state-of-the-art service.

For patients with abnormal heartbeats or arrhythmia's an electrophysiology lab is necessary to conduct tests to determine if patients require further treatment such as medication, an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), a pacemaker or surgery.

The Cardiac Cath & EP Lab is part of our commitment to delivering superior services to benefit our local community & visitors from around the world.
