An operating room staff nurse at Vail Health Surgery Center assumes responsibility and accountability for providing high-quality nursing care to patients and their families. Expert, compassionate, and individualized nursing care for patients and families is expected. Operating room staff nurses collaborate with providers, staff, and other members of the team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. As a staff nurse in the operating room, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology alongside world-class orthopedic surgeons and a dedicated team of surgical nurses in state-of-the-art facilities.
Circulating OR nurses will be asked to do some scrubbing as well scrub nurses asked to do circulating work. So you will have an opportunity to improve or retain your skills including:
Vail Valley is supportive of your education and progress toward BSN as well as your CNOR certification.
Although nurses may be able to do more circulating or scrubbing based on their expertise, there are currently no OR roles that will be exclusive to either type of work.
