About the Position

Responsible for the accurate flow of information and data between Physicians, Nurses and/or Medical Assistants. Under general supervision perform reimbursement activities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.  

Shift Schedule:

  • Mon - Fri: 9am - 6pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review Rendering Location BBP Report for any corrections that are required
  • Retrieve charge batches from O:Drive for posting
  • Retrieve payments batches from O:Drive for posting
  • Run pending charge reports daily per location from EMR system
  • Email pending charge report daily to leads per location; save report to O:Drive
  • Retrieve “Approved” charges report from EMR system
  • Enter all approved charges by location and by date of service
  • Print Daily Charge Report per Date of Service in NextGen
  • Turn in batches to Data Entry Clerk for balancing and closing
  • Batch Corrections
  • Create batch in NextGen to post for each day of over the counter deposit
  • Post over the Counter payments
  • Balance NextGen totals to the daily deposit and print batch listing report
  • Email Physicians, Nurses and/or Medical Assistants for any missing information that is required to enter charges
  • Hold incorrect charges until corrected charges are approved by Physicians, Nurses and/or Medical Assistants
  • Review and email limited coverage (LCD) overrides to designated staff
  • Verify and review all charges submitted by Physicians, Nurses and/or Medical Assistants are correct
  • Verify correct diagnosis submitted by physician
  • Hands-on knowledge of CPT, ICD coding, HCPCS, revenue codes and terminology for billing
  • Compare procedure reports to procedure charges submitted by Physicians, Nurses and/or Medical Assistants
  • Completing mid-month and end of the month deadlines
  • Notify management for any discrepancies or issues
  • All job functions must be completed with a minimum number of errors

  • Back up for Charge poster and OCP Charge Poster
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Assists with special projects as needed
  • Understand and adheres to policies and procedures

Education and/or Experience:

  • Accuracy and speed in 10-Key and typing
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to operate personal computer and CRT
  • Ability to maintain accuracy
  • Ability to approach problems/decisions analytically
  • Ability to work under stressful and fast-paced conditions

  • Ability to operate personal computer with various software programs, including Excel and Microsoft Word

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Verbal and written communication skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office

environment. Manual dexterity needed for using a calculator and computer keyboard.
