About the Position

We are seeking a Central Pharmacy Technician in the Memorial City side of Houston.

Shift Schedule:

  • Mon - Fri: 8am - 5pm

Responsibilities:

Pharmacy technician involved with pharmacy prior authorization process, communication with patients through oral oncolytics compliance and adherence programs via refill reminders and follow up calls.

Job Duties:

  • Call patient for refills reminder as assigned by pharmacy staff, documentation of calls, and communication of dispense back to pharmacy staff
  • Notification of Adherence and Compliance to physician offices
  • Call patients for follow-up after 1 week of starting oral oncolytics
  • Processing prescriptions and updating shipping address and payment
  • Initiating and process prior authorization
  • Assist with pharmacy with dispensing process as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by Pharmacy Director

Expectations:

  • Provide as a liaison between patient, pharmacy, and physician office in order to insure patients are compliant and adhering to treatments
  • Communication to pharmacy and clinical staff concerning prescriptions dispensed, shipping, and refill authorizations to insure timely dispensing of medication to patient
  • Ability to converse with patient and provide excellent customer service over the phone
  • Be able to work independently
  • Be able to self initiate and be creative to find solutions
  • Be able to be open minded and adapt to changes in new programs efficiently
  • Strong retail background and assist with pharmacy whenever needed.
  • Strong pharmacy benefit manager experience in mail order or prior authorization
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Word, retail pharmacy programs required
  • 2 years of retail experience in the last 4 years required
  • 1 year experience in a pharmacy benefit manager doing prior authorizations required
  • Mail order experience required
  • Type 50 WPM required
  • Spanish speaking preferred
  • College Diploma preferred
